White Horse, YT Fire Destroys Two Blocks, May 1905

FIRE IN ALASKA.

Seattle, Wash., May 23. -- Fire destroyed two business blocks in White Horse, Y. T., today, and consumed the White Pass and Yukon depot. The loss will foot up into thousands. The fire started in the Windsor Hotel and spread across the street to WHITNEY & PEDLER'S furnishing store. The loss to the depot is estimated at about $10,000. The Commercial Hotel, another large structure, was destroyed.
The residence of GEORGE C. MELLOT, agent of the White Pass lines at that place, was among the buildings burned.
