Green River, WY train wreck, Mar 1897

WRECK ON THE UNION PACIFIC.
No. 4, the east-bound fast mail of the Union Pacific, crashed into the rear end of a freight train at 2:35 yesterday morning at Green River, Wyo. Conductor Wedell of the freight was thrown under the cars and had both legs cut off, while several others in the caboose of the freight were shaken up, but not fatally injured. Brakeman Watson was bruised and P. McFarland of Butte was hurt in the back and side. There were no others injured.
