Junction City, WI Train Accident, Jul 1912
Frank Pendelski of Junction City was struck by Soo line train No. 6 as it approached that village this morning and received injuries from which he died about an hour later. Pendelski was walking west, with a pitch fork over his shoulder, between the main and passing tracks, when the train, traveling at a good rate of speed, bore down upon him. He had been walking close tot he main track and did not step aside as the train neared him. The pilot of the engine struck him and he was thrown to the ground unconscious. Medical assistance was called and at first his injuries were considered slight, but it later developed that his skull had been pierced. He died without regaining consciousness.
