ASHLAND BABY DIES AS RESULT OF BURNS

(News Tribune Special.)

ASHLAND, May 11.---The 3 year old baby of Mr. and Mrs. James Duket died at 11 o'clock last night from burns received Saturday afternoon while playing around a bonfire near the Duket residence. The little fellow who is just able to toddle around was playing with several older children when he got too near the fire and in a minute was a mass of flames. The other children screamed and several grown up people rushed to the little one and smothered the blaze but not until the little one was very badly burned. The little one's mother, Miss Katie Smith and Albert Rochm were burned about the hands in trying to extinguish the flames. The little one was an only child. Mr. Duket is editor of the Chequamegon Critic.
