North Fond du Lac, WI Drowning Rescue, Jul 1906
Almost Fatal Swim.
MRS. JOHN CARTMILL of North Fond du Lac, formerly of this city, who has been spending the summer with her parents, MR. and MRS. WILLIAM LYNCH, at Staples, Minn., had a very narrow escape from drowning last week. While at a picnic she yeilded against her personal preference and went in bathing with a party of ladies and children on the beach of a small lake. When wading in about four feet of water she was suddenly attacked with heart trouble and sank under the water. Her friends went to her assistance immmediately and worked vigorously over her for two hours before she was revived. The ladies were assisted and directed in their efforts by a physician who happened to be near at the time. She will return to her home at Fond du Lac this week.
