New London, WI Milk Truck Accident, Oct 1928

NEW LONDON BOY IS KILLED IN DASHING BEFORE MILK TRUCK

New London --- Hartford, 7-year-old son of Mrs. Pearl Conn, was instantly killed at about 9 o'clock Saturday morning when he was struck by a milk truck, driven by Alfred Knapp, Jr., of Maple Creek. The boy, with a group of companions, was on his way to play football when one of his comrades tossed the ball into Shawano-st. near the intersection with Broad-st. Hartford ran to retrieve the football, failing to observe the truck, whose driver was unable to stop in time to avert the tragedy.

Mr. Knapp picked up the boy and carried him into the home of Ira McFaul. A physician declared that death had been instantaneous, the result of a broken neck and crushed chest. The left arm and hand also were crushed. The body was removed later to the Fehrman Undertaking parlors.
