PROBE FATAL PLANE CRASH AT MILWAUKEE

Milwaukee – (AP) – Federal investigators today questioned witnesses of an airplane rash that cost the lives of two youthful aviation enthusiasts yesterday.

Pilot ALBERT RODEN, 26, Saukville, and his friend and passenger, HARRY WAGNER, 16, Grafton, were killed when Roden’s plane fell 300 feet and crashed near the Holterhoff airport here.

Airport officials said they believed the ship got out of control when a sharp turn was made. The machine first went into a slip and then into a fat spin. Its nose struck the earth and the airplane crumpled.

WAGNER was killed instantly. RODEN died a few minutes later.

The pilot’s father, JOHN RODEN, accompanied by a daughter, were nearing the airport by automobile as the accident occurred, but did not see it. Examination of the wreckage revealed nothing wrong mechanically with the plane, said O.W. YOUNG, aeronautical inspector for the Department of Commerce.
