Lake Delton, WI Private Plane Crash, Aug 1984

2 FROM CHICAGO KILLED IN WIS. CRASH.

Chicago -- A Wisconsin pilot and two Chicago area residents were killed Sunday when a tourist seaplane's engine apparently stalled in mid-air and crashed near Lake Delton, Wis. There were a total of six in the plane, including the pilot, KURT TURNER, 26, of Wausau, who was among those killed. WANDA A ZALUSKI, 37, Chicago, and BRENDA A. GENRICH, 23, of West Chicago also died in the crash with the pilot. Still in critical condition Sunday night at St. Marys Hospital in Madison was DIANE A. ZALUSKI, 18, Chicago. In stable condition at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo were JULIUS A. GERLOWSKI, 58, and WILLIAM E. PREISAL, 31, both of Chicago.
They were in a Cessna 185 that crashed near a public beach. The plane tried to land again after the engine problems but was unable to and crashed. The pilot was taking a tour over the Wisconsin Dells area when it crashed. Federal authorities will investigate the cause of the crash.
