A CITY ON FIRE.

HUDSON, Wis., Dec. 23.--A telegram was received from New-Richmond, St. Croix County, Wis., this morning asking for assistance from the Fire Department as the city was being destroyed by fire. New-Richmond is a city of 1,800 people on the Omaha Road, 18 miles from Hudson.

New Richmond's Loss.

NEW RICHMOND, Wis., Dec. 23,--Fire broke out in the Commercial hotel in this city at 12 noon today and burned two saloons, the hotel and a livery stable. Before it was under control a telegram sent to Hudson brought up the fire department of that city on an Omaha special train too late to render any service. Loss about $10,000, no insurance.
