Four Buildings In Merrill Ruined By $70,000 Blaze

Merrill, Wis. - (AP) - Flash fire roadred through the Lincoln foundry yesterday, destroying four of the company's buildings, P. J. Stoesser, Jr., a partner in the firm, estimated the loss at $70,000 to $75,000.

The company's main building, two warehouses and an extra building were destroyed. Only a small office building was saved. The blaze was reported by a passer-by at 4:15 p. m. The structure was empty at the time.

Witnesses said the flames spread quickly through the entire main building, indicating it might have been started by an explosion of some sort.
