Three Of The Injured Are Traveling Men From Cumberland--Train Had Started Down Grade.

Cumberland, Md., April 13.-Eight people three of them traveling men from Cumberland, were injured this morning when a combination train on the Davis (W. Va.) branch of the Western Maryland Railway was derailed on the top of the mountain one and a half miles east of Davis.

The train was made up of seven freight and two passenger cars. Two freight cars and both passenger coaches went over the embankment. The train connects at Thomas and was going at its usual speed down the grade when the accident, for which no cause has yet been assigned, occurred. The injured:
F.G. Pugh, Cumberland, slight lacerations to right side.
M.R. Coffey, Cumberland, hip bruised and body lacerated.
Joseph Atwood, Pittsburgh, bruised and cut.
Dr. W.A. Campbell, Davis, W.Va., head cut.
H.R. Combs, Davis, W.Va., right shoulder sprained.
S. Fox, Davis, W.Va., left hip and right knee badly bruised.
Milo Sine, Edinburg, Va., cut and bruised slightly.
R.F. Shipp, Edinburg, Va., head lacerated and right leg bruised.

The wrecked train was in charge of Conductor G.D. Thomas, and Engineer J.T. Cookerly, who escaped injury. Messrs. Sine and Coffey accompanied by Dr. Kalbaugh, Western Maryland surgeon, returned here.

This is the second wreck in which Mr. Coffey has been injured. A wrecking train was dispatched from this point today.
