Wenatchee, WA Cascade Tunnel Train Wreck, Aug 1910

DEATH COMES IN TUNNEL

Freight Conductor Killed When Electric Engine Stops.

WENATCHEE, Wash., Aug. 25.---Conductor Hannon, in charge of an Eastbound freight, was killed near Cascade Tunnel early this morning. Details of the accident are not obtainable, but as far as can be learned the freight train was being propelled through the tunnel by an electric engine, with a big Mogul at the rear of the train.

The electric engine, for some reason, died. The big Mogul kept pushing and forced its way through the caboose in which the conductor was riding.

Conductor Hannon's home is in Everett, where he has a wife and two children.
