PLANE CRASH CLAIMS TWO.
Lewiston, Feb. 18. (AP) -- A plane carrying two Lewiston men to their death missed a smooth landing spot by only 25 yards when it crashed into a ridge in Asotin County, Washington.
The plane was sighted Friday after it had been reported missing since Wednesday afternoon on a flight south of Lewiston. The two victims were TOM PETERSEN, 26, and RAY C. HOWARD, 25, partners in a Lewiston photography shop.
The crash area was described by search officials as at the head of Asotin Creek west of the Idaho - Washington border. Ironically, the plane crashed just below a smooth landing spot on top of the ridge where a search plane landed.
