Forest Fires Extend to Goat Mine at Barrow, Wash.

Seattle, Wash., Aug. 26.---Forest fires have destroyed the stamp mill of the Goat mine at Barrow, Whatcom County, and all of the developments and improvements in the Whistler mine in the Slate Creek district. The fires kept up the creek for a distance of several miles, and it was only through the heroic efforts of the miners that its progress was checked. The loss is estimated at $200,000.
