Crash kills Gretna woman, sends car into creek

PITTSYLVANIA CO VA,- A Gretna woman was killed after her car landed in a creek in a single-vehicle wreck early Friday morning.
Candice Neal Perry, 29, of Gretna, was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident on Telegraph Road in Gretna, according to Trooper B.R. Rise of the Virginia State Police.
Rise said the accident happened at about 1:30 a.m., but was not spotted until about 11 a.m.
Perry was heading north on Telegraph Road when she ran of the left side of the road, over corrected, then ran off the right side of the road — flipping and landing the vehicle right-side-up in Berger Creek, Rise said.
State police remain on the scene and are preparing the remove the vehicle from the creek shortly.
