Shocking Railroad Accident in Vermont.

A correspondent of the Boston Journal, writing from West Randolph, Vt., on the 25th of October, says:

" A most shocking accident occurred on the Vermont Central Railroad, at our depot, last evening. At about 7 o'clock, as two or three cattle trains from the North were stopping here together, in the hurry and bustle of switching off, changing cars, &c., the conductor of one of the trains in running beside the cars towards the engine, tripped at a cattle-guard and fell backward, with his head directly upon one of the rails; a wheel of the moving train passed directly over the unfortunate man before he had time to move, and the larger part of his head was completely severed from his body; one arm was also run over; the lifeless trunk that remained was a most horrid spectacle to behold. The name of the deceased was JOSIAH WILSON. He was about 30 years of age, and a resident of Brookfield, where he leaves a young wife to mourn his untimely end."
