Nearly Missed Graduating As Car Was In Crash

A North Bennington High School senior almost missed his own graduation last night when the car he was driving collided with another vehicle on the Overlea Inn Road.

State police said Duane T. Shultz, 18, of Bennington, was enroute to the North Village commencement exercises when his car rounded a curve and collided with a car owned and operated by Victor M. Blake, 36, of Bennington.

No one was injured, but both cars were moderately damaged. The Blake car had to be towed from the scene.

Shultz was riding alone, but Blake had his wife and daughter with him. Shultz was driving a car owned by his father, Dexter Shultz.
