SEVEN KILLED IN UTAH TRAIN WRECK

Number of Others Injured as Denver, Rio Grande and Western Is Derailed

BOTH LOCOMOTIVES OVERTURNED

Smoker, Chair and Baggage Cars Also Upset.

RELIEF TRAIN DISPATCHED

Engineer and Two Others as Well as Four Unidentified Passengers Are Victims of Fatal Accident

GRAND JUNCTION. Col., May 3 – Seven persons were reported killed and a number injured when a Denver, Rio Grande and Western passenger train was derailed near Woodside, U., during the night.

Reports received here said both locomotives of a doubleheader, two baggage cars and the smoker and a chair car were overturned. The accident occurred when the train struck an open switch.

A relief train with nurses and physicians was sent to the scene when the reports were received here.

Those reported dead were:

FRED RADER, engineer, Grand Junction

ALBERT ANDERSON, Grand Junction

MRS. MORRIS, Moab, Utah

FOUR UNIDENTIFIED PASSENGERS

Several Seriously Injured When Denver and Rio Grande Western Passenger Train Goes Off Track

GRAND JUNCTION, Col., May 3 – Five persons were killed and thirty others injured when a Denver & Rio Grande Western passenger train from California to Denver was derailed near Woodside, Utah, according to information received by railroad officials here today. The dead:

ENGINEER F. R. RADER

ALBERT ANDERSON, Rifle, Col.

ED PARTRIDGE, Provo, Utah

ARTHUR HOKEN, Chicago, N. M.

MRS. E. C. WHITE, Soldier Summit, Utah

Mrs. Barney Moore and baby of Moab, Utah, and an unidentified man were seriously injured.
