NARROW ECAPE[sic] FROM DEATH.
Grade Crossing Accident Nearly Costs Three Lives.
Special To The News.
Sherman, Tex., Feb. 26.---In a grade crossing accident this afternoon at the intersection of the Houston and Texas Central Railway and Houston street a wagon was demolished and its occupants, D. R. Parker and his daughter and granddaughter, had a narrow escape, being thrown to the ground. The granddaughter is the child of Mr. and Mrs. Harry French, and sustained painful hurts, but not of a serious nature.
A switch engine backing failed to couple to a number of cars, which began moving and struck the wagon which had luckily cleared the track, except the rear wheels.
