MacGregor, MB Train And Truck Accident, Oct 1943

MAN IS KILLED IN TRAIN ACCIDENT.

MacGregor, Man. -- One man was killed and a man and woman injured in an accident at MacGregor, Man., at 7:55 Wednesday night.
The man is PERCY W. MOORE, 45, of 67 Noble avenue, Canadian Pacific railway brakeman. The C.P.R. freight engine, with MOORE on the tender, according to reports received by the Free Press, was backing around the "Y" crossing west of MacGregor when it struck an east bound truck and sent it into a ditch. MR. and MRS. G. H. WOLFE, of MacDonald, Man., who were in the truck received severe cuts and bruises, but their bull in the back of the vehicle was killed.
R.C.M.P. are investigating the accident and an inquest is being held today.
MR. MOORE was standing on the engine tender and was crushed between the truck and engine.
MR. MOORE resided at 61 Noble avenue, and is survived by his widow, GEORGINA, one daughter, BETTY LOU, at home; his father, residing at Hamiota, and several brothers. Mordue's funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
