Afflicted Boy Fire Victim in Lindale Home

TYLER, Texas, April 20.---John Wesley Thompson, 17, afflicted son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Thompson, was burned fatally at Lindale Tuesday. The youth was sitting near the kitchen stove, when members of the household left for a few minutes. On returning they found the boy's form on the floor, a mass of flames. His clother[sic] were burned from his body. he suffered torment before expiring. The origin of the fire is undetermined.

Flames which ignited the Thompson home were extinguished before they had wrought much damage.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday.
