Drops Through Bridge Weakened by Rushing Stream.

Russ Williams, engineer on a freight train near Roscoe on the Roscoe, Snyder & Pacific Railway, barely escaped death when his locomotive and train crashed through a flood-weakened bridge, tying up traffic. He was not seriously injured. The stream was swollen from a four-inch rain that flooded part of the Snyder business section with eighteen inches of water on store floors.

Train Crashes Through Bridge.

Sweetwater, Texas, April 20.-Texas & Pacific rail schedules west of Big Spring are disrupted and a train is in a creek north of Hermleigh as the result of a rain reaching cloudburst proportions, which swept across a wide area west of Colorado Monday night.

A mixed rain on the Roscoe, Snyder & Pacific, running from Roscoe to Snyder, crashed through a bridge north of Hermleigh, about twenty-five miles north of here Monday night. The bridge was weakened by high water. The engineer and a brakeman were injured by the crash. The train was still in the creek Tuesday morning.

Much wire trouble and impassable roads were reported in some sections of the storm stricken area.
