FIRE RECORD.

Fire Damage at Brownwood.

Special To The News.

Brownwood, Tex., April 1.---Fire last night in the W. L. Pliler grocery store on Center avenue done damage to the amount of several hundred dollars. The fire caught from a stove in the rear of the house. Had it caught later in the night no doubt there would have been several buildings burned. The Lyric Theater, just opposite the store, and the Majestic, to the rear, was both in operation when the alarm was given, but on account of the bad weather the crowd was small and prevented a rush. After the fire both shows opened again.
