--------

A FIRE occurred at Hearne, Robertson county, on Friday morning last, destroying the entire north side of the square; estimated loss, about $40,000. AS usual in Texas towns, water was scarce, and but for the fact that the wind prevailed from the south, a still further loss would have been sustained. The following is a list of the sufferers: M. Savane, dry goods; J. M. Bibb, restaurant; S. W. Hearne & Co., general merchandise; Lewis & Lewis, bankers; S. Draper, furniture; Chas. Cruft, restaurant; M. Loeb & Co., wholesale liquor dealers, Jas. Johnson, Jacob Morey, and Barney Dolan, saloons. The origin of the fire is not known. We glean these particulars from the Waco Examiner of Saturday.
