Twenty Houses Stripped of Roofs Near Handley.
Special to The News.

Fort Worth, Texas, April 9.—Interurban service between here and Dallas was cut off until 3:30 o’clock this afternoon as a result of a storm that blew down about thirty interurban poles between Fort Worth and Handley. A rainstorm and strong wind, which blew up near midnight last night, was general, but it was particularly intense at a point about three miles out toward Handley. Twenty housed in that section were unroofed and otherwise badly damaged during the gale.

Three hundred and fifty telephones in the city were reported out of order as a result of the storm. Harry G. Brickhouse, manager of the telephone company, said that the damage was not as great as he had expected. And that the phones will be back in working order be the last of the week.
