INTERURBAN CAR TURNS OVER.

Several People Slightly Injured in Accident Near McKinney Last Night.

SPECIAL TO THE NEWS.

McKinney, Tex., Oct. 16. - Several people wer slightly injured and bruised here tonight at 9:25 when two interurban cars over the Texas Traction Company line were wrecked about 1,000 yards north of the station. The cars were running in two sections, one closely following the other. The first car struck a cow; upsetting the coach in such a manner as to leave upon the rails one set of trucks. The car behind it crashed into the wrecked coach and was derailed.

Among those hurt were Rufus Furr and wife and S. F. Cook, all of McKinney.

The car left Dallas at 8 o'clock, and, it was said by the interurban officials, were running a few minutes behind scheduled time. Both cars were badly damaged and the track was put out of commission. All traffic tonight has been relayed from north to south and vice versa.

The wrecked car was operated by Motorman Hunter, who, it is reported, is slightly hurt, as was Motorman Whitson of the second car.

INJURED ARE DOING WELL.

Interurban Coach Derailed and Turned Over at McKinney, Result of Hitting Cow.

SPECIAL TO THE NEWS.

McKinney, Tex., Oct. 17. - All of those who were injured in the wreck when an interurban car, striking a cow on the track, turned completely over near here last night at 8:30, are resting well today and no serious results are feared. Out of the more than twenty who were more or less inujured, those most seriously hurt were a man from Sherman, whose name was not learned, one rib broken; Otis Nelson, of McKinney, bad cut on left leg above ankle; Bet Cook, internal injuries, extent of which is not yet known; Rufus Furr, Mrs. Rufus Furr, Miss Mary Rice, all of this city, severe cuts and bruises on body and head; Miss Myrtle Moritz, Triplett, Mo. head and body bruised and cut. Many others were painfully hurt, but these are most serious. The track was cleared and through traffic resumed this evening.

Sherman Passengers Hurt.

SPECIAL TO THE NEWS.

Sherman, Tex., Oct. 17. - Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Melton and Gus Turner Jr. of this city were passengers on the Sherman-Dallas Interurban car which was in a wreck at McKinney last night. Mrs. Melton escaped injury. Mr. Melton and Mr. Turner received slight scratches. Mrs. Brown of Corsicana, who was on her way to Sherman to visit her brother, George Copley, also received slight injuries, getting a scalp wound. Mr. Melton stated the first car struck a cow and left the track, turning over on its side, and the second car, on which there were no one except the motorman and conductor, ran into the corner of the wrecked car and also left the track. The first car had quite a number of passengers. Those who received injuries were taken to McKinney for treatment.
