Six Killed and Twenty Injured Near Newsome.

Pittsburgh, Texas, April 9 (illegible)—Six persons were killed and at least twenty were injured in a cyclone two miles from Newsome and twelve miles west of here at 5 o’clock this morning

Killed: Mrs. L. C. CALHOUN, Mrs. Adolphus AUSTIN, two children of E. TILLERY and a child of Mart MORGAN.

Probably fatally injured: Adolphus AUSTIN, whose wife was killed.

Seriously injured: L. G. CALHOUN.

Slightly injured: Three children of L. C. CALHOUN. E. TILLERY, Mrs. E. TILLERY, Mart MORGAN, wife and four children of F. L. SMITH, A. ATTAWAY and entire family.

The Spring Hill schoolhouse recently completed, and the following homes were destroyed: Adolphus AUSTIN, L. CONNELL, Tom CARTER, E. TILLERY, Mart MORGAN, A. ATTAWAY and F. L. SMITH.

The cyclone was accompanied by a terrific rain. Many trees, fences and out-buildings were destroyed over a large scope of territory. As soon as news of the storm was received here, which on account of all wires being down, was delayed several hours, every doctor in Pittsburg hastened to the storm area and rendered assistance to the injured.
