Camden, TX Train Goes Through Trestles, Feb 1905

TRESTLE GIVES WAY.

While Mixed Train Is Crossing the Structure Collapses.

Special To The News.

Camden, Tex., Feb. 26.---The regular train on the Moscow, Camden and San Augustine Railway, Saturday morning while backing to make a run for a hill, went through one of the trestles causing a bad wreck. The train consisted of six freight cars and the passenger coach at the rear. It went through near the middle of the train and two of the freight cars were almost demolished.

The trestle and track for several yards were torn to pieces. Fortunately the passenger coach became detached by the shock and the passengers were scarcely shocked. The engine crew was badly shaken up, but no one was hurt.
