PITTSBURG, Texas, May 15.----Eight houses in the residence district were blown down Thursday evening by a tornado that passed from east to west through the city, but did no damage in the business district.

The wind was accompanied by a cloudburst, and rain estimated at between 8 and 9 inches fell in a short time. Streets and highways were flooded and considerable damage was done to property and crops.

Several of the homes damaged by the tornado were destroyed and some were left with the walls standing, but were unroofed and twisted by the force of the gale. No one was reported hurt.
