Port Arthur, TX Automobile Accidents, May 1930

Port Arthur Motor Accidents Kill Two.
PORT ARTHUR. Texas, May 21 (AP)---Two persons lost their lives in automobile accidents here early Wednesday.
Henry Sloan, sailor on an oil barge, died en route to a hospital after being struck by an automobile at a street intersection shortly after midnight.
Sam P. Jones, negro taxi driver, struck Walter Carr, negro, at a street intersection, when the latter alighted from an oil truck. Carr died at a hospital from his injuries. Jones is being held for county authorities. Police said the accident was unavoidable.
