"Storm Damage in Troy,
Troy, Bell Co., Tex., May 7.--Last night about 3:30 o'clock a severe storm passed over this commuity[sic]. The main track of the tornado passed about one and three-fourths of a mile north of Troy, going between the residences of F. H. Roberts and R.L. Talley, thence across the Missouri, Kansas and Texas track and blowing down fifteen telegraph poles, then eastward across the farm of John Spohn, between his residence and that of J. J. Cook, and on eastward through the timber. No further news is now at hand, but it is feared much destruction was done.
In Troy the storm was severe and did damage as follows: Maedgon & Black's lumber shed, partially unroofed and all badly twisted. A. Sharp's gin, partially unroofed. Waco oil company's seedhouse, careened on the blocks. C. W. Kennon's paint and hardware store, careened. Section-house, careened about twelve inches. Several out houses blown down and fences injured. The track of the storm proper was about 400 yards wide.
