TWO KILLED, TWO HURT, AT CISCO BY EXPLOSION
By United Press.
CISCO, Texas, July 25. – Two men are dead and two are suffering from injuries received here as a result of a nitroglycerin explosion at the storage plant of the Illinois Torpedo Company, three miles west of Cisco, Saturday afternoon.
TOM McCULLOUGH and J.W. PEEBLES were blown to atoms. MART SHAW and E.T. DAVIS were severely injured. All the men were employed by the company.
According to investigators here the explosion was caused by a defective boiler. The plant was wrecked. Machinery and timbers were thrown half a mile. The concussion was felt plainly in Cisco.
Officials did not know whether the plant will be rebuilt. It furnished explosives for the oil fields near here.
MART SHAW, one of the injured men, was not expected to live, physicians said Saturday night.
