Fire at Van Alstyne

VAN ALSTYNE, April, 10—The second time in less than a week this town has been visited by a very disastrous fire. Last night, between the hours of 8 and 9 o’clock, fire broke out in Hampton Bros. drug store, consuming the following houses: Value of each, insurance and losses as follows:

E. G. Bail, dry goods; stock, $19,600; loss and damage, $6800. Hampton Bros., druggists; stock, $5000; insurance, $5000; everything lost. McKinney & Cave, furniture; stock, $1400; house, $900; insurance, $1500; half of stock saved. Hampton & Sledge, saloon; stock, $1400; house, $1000; insurance, $1700. Harper Bros., saloon, stock, $1000; loss, $150; no insurance.
