Plains Courthouse, 18 Years Old, Burns

LUBBOCK, Texas, Dec. 16 (AP)—Fire of undetermined origin destroyed the two-story frame 18 year old courthouse at Plains, county seat of Yoakum County, southwest of here, Thursday at noon while all the officials were at lunch, according to a telephone message from W. H. Hague, County Clerk, who said all the records had been placed in the vault for the noon hour and were unhurt. The loss was estimated at $6,000.

He said the County Commission would meet Friday to plan a temporary housing.
