125 ARE REPORTED DEAD IN CORPUS CHRISTI STORM.

Corpus Christi, Tex., Sept. 15. -- There were reports here tonight that the bodies of more than 125 persons had been recovered in Corpus Christi and Nueces Bay, but this could not be confirmed up to midnight and officials were inclined to discredit the reports.
These reports wre that 125 bodies had been found between Portland and White Point, across Nueces Bay, while the other victims were found in the city. It was reported some of the bodies were those of Portland victims.

Houston, Tex., Sept. 15. -- Late tonight a telephone was received here from Beetile stating that 120 bodies had been found on a reef eight miles from Portland, near White Point. Most of the dead, the message had been recognized as residents of Corpus Christi.
A message stating that the bodies of twenty-three persons who lost their lives in the Gulf hurricane had been received at Portland, a small town seven miles from Corpus Christi, and the others were being recovered, was received here tonight from Kingsville, Tex., by Mayor A. H. Amerman. The message asked that undertakers be sent to Portland to assist in burying the dead. Three local undertakers immediately left for Portland.

Corpus Christi, Tex., Sept. 15. -- From fifteen to twenty-five persons are dead, approximately 4,000 are homeless and property damage it is estimated with reach $4,000,000 as the result of the tropical hurricane which raged here for twenty hours.
They city is in distress and Mayor Gordon Boone has sent the following appeal to Governor Hobby at Austin:
"Please send at once two companies of National Guard with supplies and join in the appeal for financial assistance. Conditions here deplorable and immediate help is needed."
The Courthouse is being used as a morgue. At least a score of persons are afloat in Nueces Bay tonight, where they were washed out by the waves. They were clinging to spars and debris, and what few boats were left undamaged by the storm were being used tonight to recover them.
The known dead are:
MRS. ROSA ROBNETT, tourist, Pavilion Hotel.
MRS. BAKER, wife of the proprietor of the Pavilion Hotel.
JACOB DORAN.
W. L. MITCHELL, guest at the Pavilion Hotel, home unknown.
Captain C. M. EDGELAND, Company IV, 37th Infantry, U.S.A. commander of the rest camp.
HARRY SPIKER, wife, married daughter and daughter's two children.
MR. and MRS. T. A. DAVIS, proprietors of the Reef Grocery.
Young lady with red hair about 25 or 30 years old.
