TOWN OF BARNUM, TEXAS, IS SWEPT -- LOSS
$250,000.

Houston, Tex., Aug. 10. -- At Barnum, Polk County, fire destroyed the planing mill and dry kiln, lumber yard, lumber store and a number of tenant houses, belonging to W. T. Carter & Bro. and a number of cars and three small bridges belonging to the Kansas & Texas Railway.
The loss will be $250,000. The insurance is small.
