BOILER EXPLOSION.

Madisonville, Sept. 27. -- MR. JOE HOLLIDAY, the young man reported in today's Post as having been fatally injured in the boiler explosion at Kent's gin yesterday morning, died at 8 o'clock last night. His funeral and the funeral of MR. MERRITT KENT, who was instantly killed by the explosion, were held at the city cemetery this afternoon, the former being conducted by the Woodmen of the World, the latter by the Modern Woodmen of America.
MR. TOM DEAN, who was injured on the head and face, is not as dangerously hurt as was at first supposed, and he will soon be up.
Some of the accounts of the terrific force of the exploding boiler are almost beyond belief, and the only wonder is that more people were not killed or injured. One of the rods from the boiler fell on a farm about three miles distant.
The weight on the safety valve fell in a few feet of the new Christian church, burying itself two feet in the ground.
The families of MESSRS. M. Y., R. J., and P. J. RANDOLPH were in imminent danger, as debris of all kinds was thrown all over their yards, and it probable that if the members of MR. P. J. RANDOLPH'S family had been at home some of them would have been killed, as every room in the house was filled with broken stones, brick and pieces of timber. MR. J. S. THOMASON'S residence was also damaged, several missiles having entered the windows and struck the walls.
A section of the boiler, weighing about 400 pounds, fell in front of WILLIAM EVANS' residence, about 400 yards distant.
Postmaster BROWN'S residence was also struck several times, and one piece entered a room.
One of the boiler flues penetrated an outhouse in the yard of C. R. CONNOR, passing over several buildings in its flight.
The catastrophe has plunged the entire city into mourning. The two young men who met death were noble, true and industrious boys, who, had they lived, would have been a credit to their community and a joy and pride to their devoted parents.
