Borger Ball Player Fractures Skull

Edward Carnell, Borger baseball player, was reported in a "fair" condition today at noon at Hendrick Memorial Hospital.

Carnell suffered severe scalp lacerations and a skull fracture just before the start of yesterday's game here with the Abilene Blue Sox. Witnesses said that he hit his head against the edge of the dugout roof as he started to walk out of the dugout prior to the game.

Carnell likely will be out of play for the next two weeks at least, and possibly for the rest of the season.
