Brothers Smothered

LUFKIN, Tex. (AP)--Sand collapsed around two brothers in a huge container at a ready-mix concrete plant late Tuesday and both smothered, authorities reported.

Searchers digging to find the men uncovered the bodies of Marlin Mark, 57, and McCall Mark, 56, in a sand silo. Both were from the Apple Springs community south of here in East Texas.

Officers said one of the brothers apparently ran into trouble while working in the silo, the other went to his aid and both were trapped. The accident happened at the Lufkin Ready-mix plant on the edge of town.
