S’ville Man Dies in Crash

Stephenville – One Stephenville man died, while his wife and the driver of another car were in good condition at Stephenville Hospital Monday night following a two-car crash ob u. S. 67 less than a mile east of Stephenville at 10:55 a.m. Monday.
James Percy ANDERSON, 80, a retired Stephenville water works employe (sic), died at 12:10 p.m. Monday in Stephenville Hospital from injuries sustained in the accident. His wife, Estelle, a passenger in the car, received a broken arm and shoulder, but was reported in good condition.

Bruce LARNER, 75, of Bluffdale, driver of the other vehicle, received severe brusies (sic) from the impact, but was also in good condition Monday night.

Highway patrolman Fred CUMMINGS said the ANDERSON vehicle was headed west at a service station, but was going to turn east onto the highway when it was in collision with the westward bound LARNER vehicle.

The two cars crashed with left front fender to left front fender, then spun and crashed again, leaving the ANDERSON car in the middle of the roadway and LARNER’S car in the south barrow ditch.

Funeral for Mr. ANDERSON is pending with Lacy Funeral Home.

He was born Feb. 9, 1892, in Duffau, and married Estelle ADAMS Dec. 25, 1915, in Mitchell Creek community. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and had lived in Stephenville 60 years.

Survivors are his wife, Estelle; and several nieces and nephews.
