San Antonio Houses Flooded Early Today

SAN ANTONIO, May 31.--(AP)--Houses were inundated and automobiles stalled in various parts of the city today as storm sewers were over taxed and creeks began to rise as a result of heavy rains here, which were continuing at 11 o'clock.

Firemen and police were notified of houses being flooded in one south side section of the city. Firemen had to rescue automobiles stalled by high water in another part of the residential section, while a patrol radio police car was stalled a the southern edge of the city.

Fire and police commissioner Phil Wright has stationed men to watch the San Antonio river as well as the creeks for any sudden rise, and also has sent firemen to posts in the Olmos Basin in case of a rise from the Olmos watershed.
