Tornado at Houston
Houston, Sept. 1-(AP)-One man was killed, two hangars damaged and a garage demolished when a tornado accompanied by a severe electrical storm struck Houston municipal airport and vicinity yesterday at noon.
William A. Glover, 73, who lived near the flying field, was killed instantly when lightning struck a tree beneath which he was seated in the front yard of his son’s home.

Minor Damage to Flying Field by Wind and Downpour.
Houston, Texas, Aug. 31 (AP).-Roaring from a blackened sky at noon Sunday, a tornado, accompanied by a high wind and severe electrical and rainstorm, struck the Houston municipal airport and vicinity, claiming one life, damaging two hangars and demolishing a garage.
William A. Glover, 73, who lives near the flying field, was killed instantly when a bolt of lightning struck a tree beneath which he was seated as the second tornado within a month struck the airport and vicinity.
Slight damage was done to the airport by the high wind, which reached a velocity of sixty miles an hour when the storm was at its height.
Two doors from the Southern Transport hangar and the ventilator on the National Guard hangar were carried away. A garage near the hangars was lifted from the ground and carried several yards away un the gale and demolished.
A heavy downpour of rain, which followed in the wake of the storm, flooded Houston gutters and disrupted traffic for a few moments.
On Aug. 1 a tornado struck the Houston airport late in the afternoon, caving in the walls of one hangar and damaging five planes to the extent of $50,000.
Mr. Glover was struck down before the horrified eyes of his son, J. W. Glover, while seated beneath a tree in the front yard of this son’s home.
