SEVEN PERSONS KILLED, FOUR SEVERELY INJURED AT CANTON.

Canton, Van Zandt Co., Texas. April 9. Seven persons were killed outright, four were so badly injured that they will likely die and many others were injured in a storm that swept a path about a mile wide entirely across the county from the southern county line to the north county line near Grand Saline. Between thirty and forty houses were wrecked and several hundred thousand dollars' damage caused. The dead are: UBERT BURNS, 35, farmer, and his four children. WILL JORDAN, 40, farmer. Mother of BOB CLEMENTS, about 75 years of age.

The seriously injured include MRS. UBERT BURNS and 2 year old child and CHARLES HUDSON. 80 years old. JOHN HUDSON and L. WALTERS were less seriously injured.

A local relief committee has been formed, with B. L. STANFORD as chairman and W. D. ROGERS secretary and treasurer, and several hundred dollars has been contributed, which is being used to provide essentials for those left destitute. No call has been made for outside assistance.
