Irving, TX Tornado, Apr 1927

The storm hit the farm home of TOM HALEY of Irving, seventeen miles from Dallas, at 8 o'clock Wednesday morning. Flying timbers from outhouses struck his home and cut through the walls and windows. The out buildings and the garage were destroyed and debris from them blown half a mile. His windmill was twisted and his orchard destroyed. A mattress from the house was found in a distant field. In the garage the foundation blocks were torn out and blown away, but his car was unharmed.
Of 500 baby chicks on the place all were killed but one. That one was blown into an open stove. HALEY is the father of DR. W. E. HALEY of 5110 Vickery Boulevard.
