Brownwood, Tex., Dec. 6---At 4 o'clock this morning fire destroyed what is known as the old Faulkner place, on East Baker street, recently purchased by the Santa Fe, and at the time of the fire occupied by J. A. Whitehurst. The building was a mass of flames when discovered and the family barely escaped, losing everything. Insurance to the amount of $1,250 was carried on household goods and building. $500 of some being on household goods and the balance on the house. The cause of the fire is unknown.
