Trucks Collide, Fireman Killed

Two Others Hurt in Crash and One Injured by Flames.

Sherman, Texas, Nov. 6. – Donald W. SHARP, fireman at the central station, died Sunday from injuries received Saturday when two fire trucks collided at Jones and Maxey streets in answering an alarm from St. Vincent’s Sanitarium. SHARP suffered internal injuries and a fractured skull. The body will be taken Monday to Cedar Hill, Dallas County, for burial. SHARP is survived by his wife, two small children, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. F. SHARP of Madill, Ok., and two brothers and seven sisters.

L. H. FULLBRIGHT, 1003 Swiss avenue, Dallas, installing new burners under a furnace at the sanitarium, was painfully burned in the gas fire to which the firemen were hurrying.

Earl WRIGHT, a fireman, received a wrenched back, and H. L. HEAD, another fireman, three fractured ribs and head injuries in the collision.

Following the collision the fire trucks plowed into a residence on the intersection, knocking down a brick column and doing other damage. The fire was extinguished by cutting off the gas.

Sherman Fire Truck Crash Victim Buried

Sherman, Texas, Nov. 7. – Funeral services for Donald Walter SHARP, 36, who died Sunday from injuries sustained when the fire truck he was riding collided with another truck Saturday afternoon were held at the Key Memorial Methodist Church Monday. The Rev. H. C. HAND, pastor of the church, officiated. The body was taken overland to Cedar Hill, south of Dallas, for burial. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel SHARP, and two daughters, Verner Len, 5, and Thelma Jean, 3. He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. F. SHARP of Madill, Ok.; two brothers, Cecil SHARP of Big Spring, formerly of Van Alstyne, and Owen SHARP of Oklahoma, and six sisters, Mrs. George NEMCOMER and Mrs. Hazard O’NEAL of Cedar Hill, Mrs. Fate O’NEAL, Mrs. E. E. TURNER and Miss Myrtle SHARP of Madill, Ok., and Mrs. H. B. GILL of Dallas.
