Pulaski, TN Flood, Mar 1902

Pulaski, Tenn., March 30.-Further developments show additional damages were caused by the storm. In Giles county, the CHAMBERS mills at Vinta and a store of CHAMBERS BROS. and DREW CHAMBER'S dwelling were destroyed.

Many stores in the county are reported greatly damaged. The station at Wales is wrecked. The covered bridge at Kelly's Ford on Richland creek was washed away. There is no trace yet of the store or stock of SHORT BROE at Wales.

The Louisville and Nashville railroad has been working north from Decatur and has reached Aspen Hill, six miles south of Pulaski. Working from Nashville the repair train reached Riversburg this morning five miles north of Pulaski. The washed out trestles are nearly filled.

Western Union connection was restored this afternoon, but there are no telephone connections throughout the country. The Nashville line is working. The bodies of the 11 persons drowned have been recovered.

Pulaski (11) HOUSTON CONNER, SARAH PHILLIPS, JOHN COLE, wife and three children; SLICK WHITE, wife and two children, all colored, and negro baby.
