Harrogate, TN Tornado, May 1933
HARROGATE, Tenn., Mar. 15 (AP) – Hurrying home last night from a drug store, after a heavy wind had struck the town, OTTO CADLE heard his wife screaming and found her in the ruins of their home, holding the dead bodies of a 16-months-old boy and a five-months-old girl to her breast.
MRS. CADLE was injured seriously. She and her children were lying in a bed in their home over a garage when the building collapsed.
Lincoln Memorial University officials estimated that buildings of the university were damaged more than $10,000 by the wind.
