Hensler, SD School House Fire, Feb 1917

The town of Hensler, across the river from Washburn, lost its school house by fire. The authorities put in a new stove and when the fire was banked for the evening everything seemed all right but it is thought the stove exploded. The fire was not noticed until too late to save the building.

Aberdeen Daily News, Aberdeen, SD 19 Feb 1917
