FARMER KILLED BY LIGHTNING STROKE

Special to the American:---

Pierre, Aug. 24.---John Eken, a new resident of Lyman county, near Kolls, was last week killed by a stroke of lightning. He with a brother were assisting in the putting out of a prairie fire which had been started by a lightning stroke, when a second stroke killed one and severely shocked the other of the brothers. Others who were working at the fire, carried the two men away from the blaze in the track of which both had fallen. The brothers recently came to Lyman county from some point in Wisconsin.
